Vision

Funding the circular economy

Announced in September 2020 as part of StrongerBC, British Columbia's Economic Recovery Plan, the CleanBC Plastics Action Fund aims to support a vital step towards creating a circular plastics economy. By supporting new ideas and businesses, the program has helped create new jobs and drive economic growth as the province recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Categories

Supporting the circular economy through four funding categories

Supporting start-up and early-stage businesses in communities outside of the Capital Regional District (CRD) and Vancouver Metropolitan Area (Metro Van), or within communities with a population of less than 25,000.
Supporting individuals, communities, businesses, and organizations that self-identify as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who are building capacity around the circular economy and plastic waste reduction.
Developing the commercialization of reuse and repair businesses to support the phase-out of single use plastics and extend the life of products and materials to reduce plastic waste.
Increasing British Columbia's processing capacity to expand the use of Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastics in manufacturing and supporting product research, design, and testing.
