Burak Evren

Burak works with Alacrity’s Cleantech portfolio companies to address challenges in targeted markets. He also helps these companies with their marketing and business development efforts. Burak’s focuses on Alacrity’s Cleantech strategy and manages the portfolio.

Burak started his career at British American Tobacco Holland and moved on to become a brand manager for BAT in Central Asia. Through the years he has taken on different roles in local and global organizations; he worked for McCann Erickson Worldgroup, Fox International Channels, Motorola and few local giants in Turkey like Turkish Telecom, Dogan Holding and Boyner Holding to name a few. In his roles, he managed to set up sales and marketing operations that manage budgets over hundred million USD. Under his management, Turkey’s first IPTV platform Tivibu got many rewards and achieved a healthy market share. In the last decade, he was holding senior and C level positions in marketing and digital product development. Burak established a reputation as a professional and academician. He worked as a lecturer at Kadir Has University in Istanbul and keeps on teaching at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, on intercultural studies, digital entrepreneurship, innovation management, e-commerce & m-commerce. Burak is a keynote speaker in tech events about new media, artificial intelligence, digital-transformation and he is also one of the founders of Turkish Digital Transformation Association.

Burak is an enthusiast of motorsports where he was a motorsports writer and a test driver for MSNBC Turkey in Turkey, nowadays he is writing about digital transformation and international politics at Turkey’s premier personal finance site Being a rider himself, Burak enjoys short escapes over the weekends. Father to two daughters, he also enjoys cooking.

Burak holds a BA degree from the University of Istanbul and a master’s degree in global management from Royal Roads University.
