The Alacrity B.C. Cleantech Initiative focuses on identifying opportunities in foreign markets that can be solved by innovative clean technology solutions developed in British Columbia. The program offers companies access to the support, advice, and resources needed to successfully develop and deploy their products or services. With an extensive network of global relations in India, Mexico, Southeast Asia, Northern Europe, and other key foreign markets, Alacrity’s regional representatives are able to assist B.C.’s cleantech companies in expanding their business internationally.

Participating companies will learn how to navigate the complex exporting world by finding suitable customers, integrators, investors, and other business opportunities in the form of sales or strategic partnerships. They will scale up their business, start or expand exports of products and services in international markets, and be ready to capitalize on investment opportunities.

The Cleantech Program is always on the lookout for motivated clean technology entrepreneurs to join our portfolio. These entrepreneurs should apply with innovative and impactful solutions that are at the early commercialization or revenue stage of development. Deploying these solutions in Canada and/or around the world will help solve some of the biggest sustainability challenges, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and facilitating the global transition to net-zero.

We are also happy to talk to companies in emerging clean technology verticals not listed above. Interested companies should:
- Be B.C. or Western Canada-based
- Be a small to medium sized enterprise (SME), defined as operating as a for-profit business generating under $50M in annual revenue, with 1 to 499 employees
- Be at the early commercialization or revenue stage of development
- Have a global business mindset and interest in pursuing export sales in at least one of our target markets
